Older Update Notices

Happy Valentine's Day!
It's been a while since the last update but between real life, Christmas, and the preparations for an holiday trip, I've just haven't had the time even create anything to add to the site - not to mention being plagued by a bad case of artist block.

However with only few days before I jet off overseas, I've managed to pull together a few pieces to liven up the site.

FanArt: A little QAF inspired piece based around the character Brian Kinney. No warnings required.

The Sentinel: Added 3 new episode collages.

The X-Files: Added another episode collage created for the P2K Episode Exhibition.

Magnificent Seven: Added another 'dust jacket' for the Regents AU.

Fan Fic: Shock! Horror! Disbelief! Yes...I actually wrote something. A little QAF vingette that popped into my head. Rated NC-17 for adult themes and one or two 'naughty' words.

No updates to general art this time and most of my M7 energies have been spent screencapping the episodes (new images added today!).

That's it for now - hopefully when I get back from my trip I'll be all and awe inspired to create lots and lots of new pics...and maybe a fic or two.

Welcome to my new website! It looks just like the old website, but with a different (and simpler) address.

About 6 weeks ago I finally took the plunge and registered a domain and subscribed to a new site provider. I'm still such a novice at website building that I still don't understand half the stuff I'm supposed to be able to use (what the heck is a 'cron job'?) - but at least I have more space.

The other good thing about my new domain is that I can keep all my sites under the one roof. Aside from this - my main art site - there is..

TV Junkies:
The archive site for an Australian based mailing list devoted to the discussion of television. There's a full long winded explanation to the origins of the list on site, as well as the No-View Reviews - a series of unique reviews for the X-Files.

Salian's Screencaps and Images:
The title says it all *g*.
My most ambitious site. The main focus of this site is the 'Magnificent Seven' television series, but it includes pics of a number of 'Sentinel' actors and characters (eventually).

The Sentinel Art Gallery:
Not to be confused with my TS gallery on this site. It is not hosted at my domain but worth a plug anyway *g*. The aim of the site is to provide a home for or a taste of Sentinel related art. Submissions are welcome. See the site for details.

I've also added a live journal ' to my list of web thingies. You're welcome to have a look - but dont' expect much - I'm a lousy diarist. I can remember back in high school when it was diaries were the *in* thing to give friends at Xmas (that and those Yardley packs witht the soap and bathcubes). I'd end up with a least 1 each year - I'd write my name and address in them, and then they'd languish in a drawer until 2 years later when I'd throw them away unused...or use the paper for the fireplace (waste not, want not etc etc).

Artwise, I've been a bit lazy and the muse has been on leave. Nevertheless (I love that word...it's up there with 'unbeknownst') each gallery has at least one new pic.

Note of warning...one of these new pics is a collage based on the series 'Queer As Folk' (the US version). Whilst it is not 'explicit' in nature - at least not by my standards - it does include one image (each) of a male/male couple kissing and lying in bed together. I thought hard about posting this pic, to me it would rate PG-13 at the most, but I'm not the mother of a impressionable child. I will say that I'm unlikely to post anything more graphic than this, but I refuse to hide my fan interests - I ike slash fiction...*good* slash fiction :-), and I do relish exploring the imagery involved - however subltly.

Anyway, that's enough rambling for now - go and check out the new domain :-)

The site is, as always, in a state of flux. The promised TVJ/NVR website is up...kinda. I've got it all in place and if you had the url you would find most of the pages there. However I'm not publishing that yet, as I still need to rewrite the opening remarks and because I'm hoping to move whole thing, and my other websites, to my own domain before the end of this month - one that has lots and lots of space.

For this site, I've moved the older update messages to a separate page - with links in the navigation bar and at the bottom of this page. The few fics I have posted are listed on the one page. Artwise, I've had a bit of an artist's block. Nothing really serious just not feeling overally inspired. I do however, have additions to all galleries except Gen Art.

The site suffered a major setback last week
I ran out of webspace.

Needless to say, that was a shock to the system. I know 50mb isn't much in this day and age but I hadn't realised that I'd 'put up' that much. In a effort to fix things I shutdown and deleted the entire site for a few days. This gave me a chance to weed out some of the excess and trim the debris.

With this in mind I have shutdown the TV Junkies and NVR pages and closed the links. I had planned on moving them off site anyway. The new TVJ/NVR site should be up and running by the end of the week - I've transferred all the existing pages and puttogether a new frontpage etc.I've just got to write a new opening 'blurb' and make sure all the hyperlinks connect.

In the meantime I'm investigating the cost of increasing my webspace or moving elsewhere *sigh* I don't mind paying for webspace (within reason) it's just that the 95% of the webhosts are in the US and the exchange rate is such a hassle *triple sigh*

A *big* update this time.

Artwise: I've been a busy little artist the past few weeks, at least 7 new pieces add to the various galleries - and I've got another 3 or so in production. Must have been the cold weather and the two weeks holiday :-).
I've also repaired the link on the 'Danarella' pic on the X-Files Gallery. The pictures are now housed on this site so they won't be disappearing again. Do check them out - I had a lot of fun creating them *g*

Sitewise: I've added the fan fic by title page - and included a couple of pieces that have not been available before. Of course, being me, they are WIP but maybe this will inspire me to finish them...HA!
I've also 'removed' a couple of things from the navigation bar until I can up date them properly. Once they are fixed they'll be back in view.

TVJwise: TV Junkies has been updated to issue #379 and I continue to convert the early editions. I'm hoping to have them ready for posting within the next month. Buying that laptop was a godsend - I can work on the conversion and editing while I catch up on some current television.

Otherwise: I've also found time to create another website. Salian's Screen Caps & Images will, as the name says, be the home for any screen caps and images I manage to obtain for my favourite series - mainly The Sentinel and The Magnificent Seven. My 'mission statement' on the site will explain all. BTW...don't let the brightly coloured lady on the front page scare you - just click on her and she goes away :-).

I suffered a minor computer collapse last week but thankfully it seems to have been fixed - and without losing any data (big thanks to my local 'computer guy' Martin) - so the only thing that has been updated is The Sentinel Art Gallery, with two new episode collages.

I haven't got to changing the fan fic layout yet, but I have prepared the lists of websites I want to include in the links, so that's a start. I've updated the 2002 TV Junkies listings to the most recent 'closed' issue (#375) and I've been busy convert the early issues (from #1 onwards) to html format, though I haven't posted any to the site yet. It's long process as I have to edit these issues because the old bulletin board format included information about the poster's workplace and I don't think my place of employment would like that information on show :-)

Art-wise, I've added 3 pics to the Fan Art gallery and 3 to the X-Files gallery and I'm working on couple of pieces for The Sentinel that I hope to post within the next week or so.

Welcome to my new look site!
Big thanks first off to Deslea for letting me rip off one of her designs :-)

Why the change?

The World Wide Web is an ever evolving thing. Each day brings new sites, new discoveries and new styles. Everything must be better looking and faster loading than it was the day before. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with the latest trends in web design and content display but at least I can try and make things easier for you - and me - to read.

The revamp will be happening in stages. At the moment this 'index' page looks a little plain but I find that's easier to work with while I reorganise the various pages. I am planning a pictorial makeover - I just haven't decided which design will suit best.

Most of the linked pages will remain the same in appearance for the time being, but I'm hoping to restructure them so that they are easier to access. Please note: A number of the the links listed in the navigation bar on the right will lead nowhere at this time, but I've got this grand plan of updating / creating a page a week.

Stop laughing...I've already made a start :-)

I'm planning on changing the layout of the various art galleries so they can be viewed without too much scrolling and squinting, but for for now I've split them up. The X-Files, The Sentinel and The Magnicient Seven will retain their indvidual sites as before, but I've separated the 'Gallery' into Fan Art and General. Fan Art being any works representing a television show, film, celebratory, song etc etc, not already covered by the other galleries. The General gallery (I've got to get a better name than that) will be the home of my non specific art - my 'expressionic' work if you like.

Next on the list will be my fan fiction, there's not much of it so it can be housed on the one site rather than scattered all over the place. For now, I've provided direct links to the existing pages.

Anyway, that's it for now. Keep checking back - there will be frequent updates...really...I mean it this time :-)
